The castle of Alcudia de Veo is a fortress of Arab origin located to the north of the municipality of the same name, in the province of Castellón. It stands on a high mountain with steep slopes on the left bank of the Veo river, at approximately 600 metres altitude and about 100 metres above the town, visually dominating the surroundings of the Plana Baixa region.

Its Islamic origin is framed in the period of Al-Andalus, linked to the ancient Islamic settlement of Alcudia, whose Arab name means "hut". Subsequently, after the Christian conquest, the castle also had a period of Christian medieval use, becoming part of the defensive network of the Valencian territory.

Currently, the castle is in a state of ruin, although remains of its original structures are still visible. Despite its deterioration, it constitutes relevant material evidence of Hispano-Muslim military architecture in the province of Castellón.

The site is located within the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park, which adds landscape and natural value to the visit. Access to the castle is from the town of Alcudia de Veo via mountain trails, and it is commonly included in hiking routes through the mountains.

It is worth noting that in the municipal area there are also remains of another castle in the depopulated area of Xinquer, which demonstrates the density of settlement and the historical strategic importance of this territory.
