The Museum of Fine Arts of Castellón is a cultural institution located on Avenida Hermanos Bou, 28, in the heart of the urban centre of Castellón de la Plana. Its principal objective is the preservation, exhibition, education and research of the artistic and historical memory of the province of Castellón, offering a broad representation of the different historical periods of the territory.

The building housing the museum is the work of the studio Mansilla + Tuñón Arquitectos, recognised for their distinctive contemporary architectural language. The construction rises on the remains of the former Serra Espadà school, thus integrating the new architecture into the regular urban fabric of the city's historic centre.

The current museum was inaugurated on 25 January 2001, although the institution has accumulated over 150 years of history, making it one of the longest-established museums in the province. Its permanent collection encompasses archaeological pieces, fine arts and objects related to local and regional history.

The museum forms part of the network managed by the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana, dependent on the Generalitat Valenciana. It is open Tuesday to Saturday in the morning and afternoon, and on Sundays in the morning, remaining closed on Mondays.

A distinctive feature of the museum is its dual purpose: on the one hand, the preservation of local artistic heritage; on the other, its educational and research function, making it a cultural reference point for the municipalities of La Plana and the province of Castellón as a whole.
